P-arty in Peterborough!
Despite the awful road conditions on Friday (I was driving at 30km/hr on the 401 for a long stretch), a friend and I journeyed up to Peterborough, ON for the opening of ‘Are We There Yet?’ at ARTSPACE Gallery. The show was wonderfully put together by gallery director Fynn Leitch and also included Garth Leichty’s amazing woven garden hose carpet and work’s made with colored sand by Lauren Hall. It was a super fun night (probably the most fun I’ve ever had at an opening) so thanks do much to the whole ARTSPACE Crew! (Images: Photos by karol o. / decipherimages.com)

The next morning, before getting back on the road, we went to the Art Gallery of Peterborough to check out their new show, ‘Streaming Alterity.’ It was a very interesting exhibition of work exploring feminist issues. My favorite works were Rebecca Belmore’s photographs, Johanna Householder’s installation and projection of herself as Princess Leah, and Christina Zeidler’s video of the deer reading and at the computer. They had a great permanent collection as well!
