Interview with Marianne Lovink about her show on now at Olga Korper Gallery. This is the last weekend to catch the show!
Yesterday I was gallery-sitting for the Red Head Gallery in 401 Richmond. Gallery sitting is typically a pretty boring/relaxing five hours with not much to do but chill, play on the internet and talk with visitors. Yesterday was a bit slower (ok, it was St Patrick’s Day) so I took a few minutes to walk around the building and check out what else was happening…
Here were my top shows of the afternoon…
The stunning and meticulous work of Marianne Lovink at Olga Korper Gallery.

Mirrored Room with Shiny Spinning Things
BRUNO BILLIO and SAM MOGELONSKY love all things that shine and spin. By using this mutual interest as a starting point, they will create an installation where two independently shiny and spinning objects are reflected and repeated indefinitely within a space.
BILLIO is the resident artist at the Gladstone Hotel and an installation artist, sculptor, and designer. He has gained notoriety for his inventive use of stacking objects and his ability to reinterpret the everyday through spatial and contextual re-appropriation.
MOGELONSKY is an emerging Toronto-based artist. She holds an MFA from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art, London, UK. Mogelonsky constructs whimsical installations and sculptural forms that investigate storytelling and repetition.
BILLIO and MOGELONSKY have both exhibited within Canada and internationally.

I love it when talented friends are in shows! this time it’s my friend Jordan Dunlop at Gallery 1313’s ‘Emerging Artist’ exhibition… I think its the first of many!
Last night I saw ‘Modern Love’ at the Factory theater by my very talented friend, Jess Moss. It’s a play for all of us who live ‘online’ and well as ‘in the real world.’ GO SEE IT!
Theatre Caravel presents:
Modern Love
at the Next Stage Theatre Festival
From January 4th to the 15th
Factory Studio Theatre
Written and Performed by Jessica Moss
“How can you feel alone when you have 600 friends? When you carry everyone you know in your pocket all the time, why is it so hard to connect? There used to be a loneliness I could only feel in crowded rooms, and now I feel it all the time…”
Modern Love, conceived, written, and performed by Jessica Moss, and developed in partnership with Theatre Caravel, takes a look at the ways we connect with and disconnect from each other every day.

Ok… so I’ve been pretty slow this week. I am only now writing this post, even though it’s almost a week overdue. Last Friday was the opening at the Power Plant for the winter exhibitions. The Stan Douglas works were stunning, but it was these melting shopping car sculptures by Christian Holstad that I liked the best. On Ossington… Sky Glabush at MKG 127 and Alea Drain at 129 Ossington are both worth a peak.
Thanks so much to O’Born Contemporary for letting me show my postcards today in their holiday multiples fair!
